Q:Your music sounds different. Why?
A:I am from Texas not Spain. I choose not to pretend that I am from Spain. My influences from a very early age were Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Yes, jazz, classical, etc.......Oh yes and flamenco too. Lots of it. Traditional, modern, cante, guitar soloists. All of it. I love it all. Its all been installed in my brain and twisted, blended and forged into the music I play today. I apologize to any purists that it may offend, but flamenco has always borrowed from the popular music accesible at any given time in history. David Serva told a friend that he believes that the way modern Tangos started accenting the "and" of 4 was a result of Felipe Maya hearing The Bee Gees on a juke box in a bar.
